Modern kitchen in a ’30s-style house in Monnickendam
In this beautiful kitchen in Monnickendam, natural materials and colors have been used, creating a warm and luxurious feeling. The room still contains many authentic elements, such as the sliding and paneled doors that separate the different rooms, as well as the beautiful ornament on the ceiling. The combination of these authentic elements with the modern kitchen, is what makes this project unique.
The island is made of stained oak wood, with a “Taj Mahal” quartzite countertop. The customized oak handles combined with the natural stone waterfall on the island, give this kitchen a beautiful luxurious and modern look.
You will also find the oak fronts and handles on the kitchen wall behind the island. The patinated brass details such as the Quooker and the bottom of the sink make the kitchen even more unique and luxurious. At the wall on the other side of the island you will find a cabinet wall made of high quality Arpa Fenix in a natural shade. A nice coffee corner has been created by continuing the cabinet wall into a bench under the window. This way you can immediately enjoy your homemade barista cappuccino.
By creating seating space both on the island and at the window side, you can call this a real live-in kitchen. There are mainly drawers and the space above the kitchen is kept as free as possible. For example, an induction cooktop with integrated extractor system was chosen and there are no upper cabinets. This keeps the space very open and light.
